Police Arrests Suspected Suicide Bomber At Living Faith Church (Photos)

The Police on Sunday averted death after arresting a suspected suicide bomber at the Sabon Tasha branch of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel in Kaduna State.

According to TNG, the yet to be named suspect was apprehended with what is suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED) in the church.

It was gathered from a source at the church that this was not the first time the suspect was seen at the church, with the source saying that just last week the suspect was inj the church, but was sent away.

A source at the church, Ekpenyong Edet, who said he is the Chief Security officer of the parish confirmed this when newsmen visited the scene.

He informed that the suspect was monitored on CCTV carrying a bag into the church auditorium. He successfully gained access and was seated before he was suspected and the bag searched, only to find the explosive device.

Edet who said he was not in a position to hand out details to the press, appealed for patience that the presiding pastor would address the press when the service was over.

He, however, said the suspect had been handed over to the police and moved to the Sabon Tasha Division of the Nigeria Police Force.

An officer at the station confirmed that the suspect had actually been brought there, but directed further enquiries to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

At the time of filing this report, Efforts to reach the PPRO proved abortive.

One Feared Dead As #EndSARS Protest Turns Violent In Surulere, Popular Nigerian Singer, Oxlade, Injured (Photos)

Protest against police brutality, extortion and extra-judicial killings turned violent in the Surulere area of Lagos State today.

It was gathered that police officers shot indiscriminately to disperse the protesters.

In the process, two of the protesters were reportedly hit by gunshots.

One of those hit by the gunshot has been reported dead.

The protesters had since shared pictures and videos of the victims on social media.

However, efforts to reach the Lagos Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, proved abortive.

He also did not respond to a text message forwarded to him by newsmen.

In the videos that surfaced online, the protesters were seen scampering to safety.

JUST IN: Four Dead As Three Storey Building Collapses In Lagos Island

Four yet-to-be-identified persons lost their lives today when a three-storey building collapsed in the Obalende area of Lagos Island, Lagos State.

It was gathered that eight other persons were injured.

The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident.

He noted that the affected three-storey building located at 62, Odo Street, Obalende, Lagos Island, was under construction when it collapsed.

He said, “Upon arrival at the incident scene, a three-storey building under construction was discovered to have self-collapsed.

The cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained, but efforts are presently ongoing by LASEMA and other responders towards salvaging the situation.
